Has anyone towed with their 2023 Soul Automatic non-turbo?

Has anyone towed with a 2023 Soul automatic non-turbo? The manual says no, but I’ve seen online that it’s rated for up to 1500 lbs. I have a small trailer and a dirt bike, weighing a combined 600 lbs. The longest trip I plan to take is about 200 miles round trip.

Based on the history of CVT transmissions, I wouldn’t risk it. Seems like a gamble.

Maybe search for ‘Soul towing motorcycle tent trailers.’ I’m not sure what they weigh, but I’ve seen people say the smallest tent trailers work well with the Soul.

I’m getting ready to tow a bit more than that with my 2016 Soul. If the combined weight is less than your passengers and you keep the tongue weight light, you should be okay. For what it’s worth, I used to tow my race bike with an old 1.5L engine Scion XB with 300,000 miles, and it worked fine as long as I kept an eye on it.

@Dexter
I’m currently towing the bike with a 2015 Honda Civic that has 280,000 miles on it, no problems at all. I just want to make sure that if the Honda breaks down, I have a backup.

I’ve been towing my 400 lb bike with no issues.

What year is your Soul?

That should be fine – with a trailer, not much weight is on the tongue. Just be gentle with acceleration and maybe turn off eco mode to be kinder to the transmission.
