I’m trying to remove the front wheel rotor on my 2010 Kia Forte, but it seems stuck. We thought it might be the parking brake, but apparently, that only affects the rear. The screws were rusted and had to be drilled out, and now the rotor won’t budge. Any suggestions on how to get it off?
If the screws were rusted, it’s probably just the rotor sticking due to rust. You’ll need to either use a puller or give it some firm taps with a hammer to break the rust bond.

Thanks, I’ll try tapping it with a hammer and see if that helps.
Spray some penetrating oil around the hub where the rotor meets the wheel. Let it sit for a bit, then try hitting the rotor from the back with a rubber mallet.

Good idea, I’ll grab some penetrating oil and give that a try.
If it’s really stuck, you might need to use a rotor puller. It’s a special tool that applies even pressure and helps remove stuck rotors.

I’ll look into getting a rotor puller if the hammer and oil don’t work.
Make sure to hit it evenly around the edges when you’re using the hammer. Sometimes a few good hits in the right spots can free it up.

Thanks for the tip. I’ll try hitting it evenly and hope that does the trick.
Had the same issue with my Forte. I used a combination of penetrating oil and a rubber mallet. It took a while, but eventually, it came off.

Glad to hear it worked for you. I’ll give that a shot!
