I’m having an issue with the driver’s seat on my 2019 Kia Sorento. It reclines all the way but won’t return to the upright position. A few months ago, I could manually advance the pin after removing the control cover, and that would fix it temporarily, but now it doesn’t work anymore. Any suggestions?
Sounds like it could be an issue with the seat motor or switch. Have you tried checking for any obstructions under the seat?

I haven’t yet, but I’ll take a look to see if there’s anything blocking it.
If the other seat adjustments are still working, it might be the recline switch or a problem with the motor. Sometimes tapping the switch box firmly can help if it’s just a temporary connection issue.

I’ll give that a try. Hopefully, it’s something simple.
Try applying some WD-40 to the seat tracks and latch mechanism. If there’s any stiffness or minor blockage, it might help free it up.

Good idea, I’ll see if that makes a difference.
I had a similar problem with my car seat, and it turned out to be a wiring issue. Double-check that there aren’t any loose wires or disconnected plugs under the seat.

I’ll inspect the wiring as well. Thanks for the tip!
AmirK0429 recommended tapping the switch and checking for blockages. Also, lubricating the seat mechanism with WD-40 might help. Let us know if that works!
