hey everyone, i have a 2016 kia forte5 ex, and lately, when i try to start it, i get a clicking noise, and the engine doesn’t turn over. it only happens if the car sits for 6+ hours. once i get it started and drive for a while, it starts up fine if i turn it off and on again within 30 minutes. just replaced the battery but still having the issue. i’m replacing the starter and fuel pump relays next. anyone else dealt with this?
i had a similar issue, and it turned out to be a relay problem. hope replacing yours helps!

thanks! hoping that fixes it too.
if it’s still clicking after the relay replacement, it might be a parasitic drain issue. sometimes something small keeps pulling power overnight.

interesting. hadn’t thought about that. will keep it in mind if the relays don’t fix it.
did you check the starter itself? sometimes a weak starter can cause intermittent starting issues like this.
make sure the new relay is 12v 30amp—it should work fine at that rating.

thanks! that’s the exact relay i got, so fingers crossed.
good luck! let us know if the relay replacement solves it.
