I just got a 2023 hybrid Sportage and was wondering… can I still use the radio and Bluetooth if the engine’s not running?
Try pressing the start button without holding the brake. That should do it.

Yep, that’s the right answer.

Yeah, that’s how it works. Press the start button twice without pressing the brake, and it’ll go into the ON mode. The radio will turn on, but it might drain more power. Usually, this mode starts the engine, but since you’re not hitting the brake, the engine stays off.
Keep in mind that some cars automatically cut off power after a while to save the battery. You might need to open or close a door, press a button, or just tap the start button again to go into ACC mode. Check the manual just to be sure.
Just put it in ACC mode.
You seriously never heard of accessory mode?

Kias are pretty common as people’s first cars.

Not mine, but I kinda wish it was… missed out on a good car for a while.

My first car wasn’t a Kia, so it’s definitely not everyone’s first car.
@Thomasenia
He said ‘often’ everyone’s first car, not ‘always’.

Yeah, but saying ‘often everyone’s first car’ still sounds like it’s claiming everyone had one at some point, which isn’t true.

Cars with push-button start don’t have a key position. You just press the start button without touching the brake. Not super obvious, though… kind of annoying.
@deirdrebuttner
Weird how people downvote correct info… just press the start button without holding it or touching the brake pedal.

Don’t hold it, just press it once. That’s it.
@Smart
Yeah, that’s what I meant… my bad if it came out wrong.

All good, man. Just sounded a bit confusing at first. No worries.

Yeah, I’m not the best with words sometimes.
@deirdrebuttner
People on this forum never read their car manuals.

It’s kinda confusing when there’s no key to turn… ACC mode doesn’t feel intuitive.
Here’s how it works… press the start button once to enter accessory mode. The radio and USB ports will work. Press it again to go fully on, which lets you move windows and run ventilation. If you leave it in accessory mode too long (like 15–20 minutes), it might warn you about battery drain. Personally, I just leave the car on and in park when I’m waiting. The gas engine kicks on every few minutes for a bit. No big deal.
