Anyone noticed their 2025 lane keep assist feels jerky?

I’ve got the 2024 model and yeah, I turned it off after it jerked me towards a school bus once. Scared me badly.

I don’t think you can turn it off on the 2025 model.

You can switch it off in the settings menu.

On my 2024, you hold the lane assist button (the steering wheel with lane lines icon) for about 30 seconds to disable lane assist and tap it to turn off steering assist. It might be the same for the 2025.

I have the 2024 version, and a couple of times I was lucky to be holding the wheel. One time it nearly pushed us into the median.

Sometimes I think about just letting go to see what happens. Maybe Kia would owe me big if something went wrong.

Ours works fine but tends to veer off onto exit ramps if I’m in the far-right lane.

I think you’re talking about the highway driving assist. The lane keep assist is different, and for me, it’s been pretty smooth.

@Jason
Yeah, I’m specifically talking about lane keep assist. On the 2025 model, it seems like it’s always on.

I turned mine off right away. It feels dangerous, especially in snowy or icy conditions.

That’s exactly why I’m worried about using it.

Yes, I noticed mine leans to the right, so lane assist keeps correcting it with small left-right jerks. I had it noted in my purchase contract that they’d fix it, but I haven’t had the time to bring it in yet.

Not a fan of lane assist in general, but the one in my 2025 EX X seems less intrusive than others I’ve tried. I leave it on. The highway cruise control, though, is amazing.

I agree. The highway feature is great, especially how it changes lanes with just a tap of the turn signal.

Did your Kia emblem come blacked out, or did you customise it yourself?

The 2025 models come with a black emblem as standard.

I think there’s confusion about the different assist features on the 2025.

Lane keep assist keeps you from drifting out of your lane but doesn’t steer the car if you’re centred. Highway driving assist actively keeps you in the centre of the lane. If the green steering wheel icon is on, it’s highway driving assist. If it’s just the car between two lines, that’s lane keep assist.

Short-pressing the steering wheel button turns highway assist on/off, while long-pressing toggles lane keep assist.

@Garcia
I’m talking about whatever gives steering inputs. On my cluster, the steering wheel icon is green, and it makes adjustments whether I’m on the highway or driving around town.

That doesn’t sound normal. You should have it checked out. Our highway driving assist doesn’t behave that way.
