Hey, we just bought my wife’s new car yesterday, and everything is great except one thing—she can’t get Apple CarPlay to work. The phone connects via Bluetooth, and contacts show up fine, but CarPlay stays greyed out. We’ve followed the manual, watched YouTube guides, and tried troubleshooting, but no luck. My Toyota connects so easily, but this seems like a hassle.

This might be obvious, but just checking—are you trying to connect with a cable or wirelessly? The Sportage doesn’t support wireless CarPlay.
Yeah, I heard that too, which is really frustrating. We tried using a USB cable, but nothing happened.

That’s odd! We just got our EX, and I set up Android Auto with no problem. I’ll try connecting my wife’s iPhone later and let you know how it goes.

That would be great. My wife is really annoyed about it, and I get why.

Just tested it! Both Android Auto and CarPlay worked right away when I plugged into the USB-A port. No setup needed, just plug and go.
Some things I’ve seen people mention:
Use a good-quality cable—some only charge but don’t transfer data.
Only the USB-A port works for CarPlay, not USB-C.
If you already tried these and it still doesn’t work, I’d be stumped too.

The EX Hybrid can use CarPlay, but the non-hybrid EX can’t. My son has the hybrid, and his works fine, but mine doesn’t.

I think the EX does have wireless CarPlay, but the EX-Premium doesn’t.
