Anyone else loving the Kia EV9?

We just got an EV9, and after a few days of driving, we’re really happy with it. I don’t even miss our Tesla Model Y, which we had for two years. This car has so much to offer, and it’s super comfortable. Can’t believe this is a Kia…

Totally agree. We’ve had ours for almost a year now, and no complaints at all. Still surprised we don’t see more of them around New England. I was in San Francisco last week and only spotted one.

I’m in Ontario, and they only started popping up here a couple of months ago. Took Kia a while to get them out…

Just added one more to the New England count yesterday .

What do you think of the sound system? I test-drove one a few weeks ago and loved almost everything, but the sound didn’t really blow me away. Maybe I didn’t tweak the settings enough. The cabin was super quiet, though .

@Kiatalks
We came from a 2011 Odyssey where only the front left speaker worked by the time we traded it in, so to us, this feels amazing!
But seriously, I also have a 2014 BMW, and I enjoy the Kia’s sound system more, mostly because the cabin is so quiet. I’ve paid extra for premium audio in the past, but after a while, it doesn’t seem to matter much since other things in the car start breaking.

They’re everywhere in Colorado. Our $5K tax credit probably has something to do with it. The dealerships I know sold out in December, likely because people were rushing before the federal credit potentially expired.

Congrats! I’ve been thinking about getting one… How does it handle in the snow?

Not the original poster, but mine has been great for trips to the ski resorts in Utah. I’ve got CrossClimate 2s, and they’ve been solid.

It does really well! It’s heavy, about 5,500 lbs because of the battery, so it has good traction. The suspension is nice and smooth, so you don’t feel the bumps much. The cabin is also super quiet. Definitely worth taking for a test drive.

You’ll want better tires for serious winter driving, but once you swap them out, it performs really well.

@Luchivya
I live in Manitoba, Canada, and the stock tires have been fine for winter so far.

Manitoba winters with an EV9? If that’s not proof that it handles snow well, I don’t know what is. That’s good to hear .

@Kiatalks
My neighbour has one too, and they love it just as much.

@Luchivya
I’m in Rochester, NY. We’ve had 52 inches of snow so far this year, and the stock tires have been fine. Snow Mode really helps with traction. Regardless of tires, the extra weight means stopping takes longer, so that’s something to keep in mind.

@Luchivya
I disagree about needing different tires. Just keep the pressure at what’s listed on the door jamb, and Snow Mode does the rest.

@Luchivya
I wonder if the differences people are seeing are because of trim levels or different tires depending on the country. In the US, I know the Land and GT Line trims come with different tires.

We have snow tires on ours, and we live at 6,000 feet. Handles great in the snow.
