A/C compressor clutch replace

I wanted to know if anyone had ever changed the clutch on an air conditioner without removing the compressor. If at all feasible, I would prefer to avoid taking out the compressor from my 2004 Sedona because the clutch broke. If you take out the tire, the plastic in the wheel well, and the motor mount to drop the engine a couple of inches, it appears to be practically manageable.

Additionally, I discovered a $95.00 clutch replacement kit on eBay. The front plate, coil, bearing, and shims are included. Has anyone else discovered a better offer?

I once tackled a similar issue with my own car and found that replacing the clutch on an air conditioner without removing the compressor can be tricky but doable. If you’re considering dropping the engine slightly by removing the tire, plastic wheel well liner, and motor mount, that might give you the necessary space to work. I managed to replace the clutch by carefully maneuvering around the constraints and had success without removing the compressor entirely. As for the replacement kit, a $95 price for a clutch kit sounds reasonable, but I’d recommend checking other online retailers and local parts stores for possible better deals or reviews on the kit’s quality to ensure you’re getting good value.

Totally doable… I changed the clutch on my old van without pulling the compressor. Just took off the tire, wheel well plastic, and dropped the engine a bit by removing the motor mount—worked like a charm. The eBay kit sounds decent, but I’ve seen similar deals around that price
