2024 models with different controls? …Anyone else confused?

The controls are the same. One screen shows the climate controls, and the other shows the nav or stereo. You switch between them with a button press, but the nav screen is mostly for volume, which is controlled on the steering wheel. So, I just leave mine on the climate screen almost all the time.

@Lauren
Yes, the button a couple selections to the right of the left knob switches between the two. I keep mine on the climate screen and use the steering wheel buttons for all media.

@Lauren
The knobs look different though? It’s a bit hard to tell in the picture. I know this question may seem silly, but it bugged me enough to ask. I’m struggling with which CPO PHEV to get—some have the cold weather package, some have extra car mats, some have the black trim stripe on the back… each seems to list things differently, so it’s been a bit dizzying. Appreciate your help!

@lilly
Like others have said, you press a screen button to switch the display between audio and climate controls. You can set one of them as the default.

@lilly
The display is modal, so in climate control mode, the knobs adjust the temperature (separate for driver and passenger). In infotainment mode, the left knob controls volume, and the right knob is for tuning.

@lilly
I think it’s just the angle of the photo.

@lilly
I have a 2023 PHEV (in cityscape green!) with the same controls. They’re the same as in your photo. Here’s a pic of both the nav and climate views with dual controls: imgur link

I hate turn dial shifters. I have the 24 EX, and it has a regular shifter, just how I like it.

I rented a car once with a dial shifter, and I just couldn’t get used to it. I’m with you—down with dials!

This dial shifter is pretty easy to use. Turn it left for reverse, right for drive, and press the center button for park. It’s much simpler than Ford’s.

I’m used to the traditional shifters. These turn dials feel really strange to me. But I guess that’s the direction things are going.

I don’t mind the dial shifter. Honestly, I think it’s probably better than the cars with button shifters.

Can anyone explain the black trim on the outside of the car? Also, if one car has the cold weather package, would that make it a better deal? I don’t plan on having passengers in the back, but I heard the cold weather package can make the engine more efficient.

@lilly
The blue car in your picture has the same black trim along the bottom as the other one; it’s just harder to see because of the lighting. Also, some cars have a black rear pillar (the piece behind the rear window), which is an extra option. Not everyone likes it, but some people think it looks cool.

@MatthewGonzalez
I’m hoping whichever car I get can be painted or wrapped, especially if it has the chevron pillar. I was hoping to find an orange, but the only one available is still too expensive, and the newer 2024s are cheaper. I just want to get the best deal. If the cold weather package helps the engine, I’ll probably go for one that has it.

@lilly
The cold weather package doesn’t exactly help the engine, but it has an electric heater that makes the car more efficient in cold weather. It doesn’t need to run the engine for heat in EV mode, although you do lose some electric range. It also has heated rear seats.
