2023 Telluride driver door won’t unlock with touch anymore… anyone else had this happen?

I know this might sound like a small issue, but it’s really been bothering me. I have a 2023 Telluride, and for the past month, my driver’s side door won’t unlock with the touch anymore. The passenger side still works fine, so it doesn’t seem to be a settings issue. It’s so annoying having to dig for my keys every time. Has anyone experienced this? Any ideas on how to fix it?

Do the mirrors open up when you get close to the driver side door? I had a similar problem. My door wasn’t unlocking reliably, and I found out that it was the keyfob battery running low. I figured it out because the mirrors didn’t do anything when I walked up.

Yes, the mirrors do open, which makes it more confusing. It unlocks the passenger side but not the driver’s.

I had the same issue, and when I took it to the dealership, they just did a quick software update. Took about 30 minutes.

I checked under settings, and it says there are no updates. Was this a special update that you couldn’t do at home?

@rick
Yes, it had to be done at the dealership.

Thanks for the heads up. I’ll schedule an appointment.

@rick
Have you had the other recalls done yet?

Yes, I got them all done about 6 months ago.

@rick
By the way, does your keycard work?

I actually hadn’t used the keycard until today. I tried it, but it doesn’t work on either door. I’m not sure if it’s new or if it’s always been this way.

@rick
I think you need to set it up with the two fobs first.

We had the same issue. At first, they replaced the handle, but it happened again. A software update at the dealership finally fixed it.

@Mark
Was it covered by warranty for you?

Yes, it was covered.

Good to know. I have a new one, and it’s been hit or miss with the touch unlocking.

IT WORKS NOW

My husband disconnected the battery after seeing someone else say that worked for them. After reconnecting it, the door works fine now. I don’t know why it worked, but after months, it’s finally fixed!

I’m dealing with the same problem on my 2024. I have an appointment in December to have it checked. Thanks for the tip about disconnecting the battery; I’ll try that tomorrow.
