Hi everyone, I’m having trouble starting my 2016 Kia Sedona. The battery isn’t very old (about 2 years), and everything else seems to work fine—horn, lights, and radio are all functional. However, when I try to start the car, very little happens. Could this still be a battery issue, or maybe a bad connection? Any tips on what to check next?
It could still be the battery, even if it’s relatively new. Sometimes they fail prematurely. Do you have a voltmeter to check the voltage?

I don’t have a voltmeter, but I could bring the battery to an auto parts store to get it tested. Thanks for the suggestion!
Check the battery terminals to make sure they’re clean and tight. Corrosion or a loose connection can cause starting issues.

Good point! I’ll check the terminals and clean them if needed. Thanks!
You might also want to check the starter. If the battery and connections are fine, the starter could be failing.

I’ll keep that in mind if the battery checks out. Thanks for the advice!
Don’t forget to test the alternator too. A weak alternator might not keep the battery fully charged, even if it’s not the root cause of the issue.

That’s a good idea. I’ll have the alternator tested as well. Thanks!
If you’re still stuck, it might be worth having the car scanned for error codes. A diagnostic tool can sometimes point you in the right direction.

I’ll see if I can get it scanned if I don’t figure it out soon. Thanks for the tip!
