The button on the right disables the power windows, but what about the button on the left? When I press it, I hear a relay clicking under the dash, but nothing else happens. I’ve looked online, but can’t find anything about it. Any ideas?
Try pressing it and then try using the window controls in the back doors.

Do you mean it’s the same as the right button? If so, I’ll need my brother’s help.

That button locks the window switches on the rear doors, so kids can’t roll down the windows by mistake.
@ruth
I knew about that one. The left button is what I was talking about. I guess I’ve got my answer now.
Have you checked the car’s manual?

It’s a 2003 Kia Optima. Believe it or not, the manual was still in the glove compartment, but it doesn’t mention anything about that button. I checked it first.
It’s the door lock/unlock button.

This car has manual door locks. Plus, when I press the button, all I hear is the relay click, but the doors don’t respond.

Hmm… Interesting. I wonder if your car is partially wired to have power door locks, or maybe the actuators for the power locks are broken. Did you buy the car used? Could it have originally had power locks?
@Rafaela
Yeah, I got the car used about 3 weeks ago. I found out a week later that it used to be a Hertz rental. I didn’t know that at the time, but now I see some things don’t work right. I needed a car fast and they only wanted $600 for it, but I feel like I might have been taken.
@Lucypiper
Got it. Since your car has power windows, it’s likely that the power door lock actuators are just broken.

Yeah, that sounds about right. I was in a rush and jumped on this deal, but now I’m regretting it. Thanks for your help though.
@Lucypiper
Yikes… Old Kias can be rough… probably worse than the new ones.

You probably have power door locks. I think the seller said it was manual because they’re just not working. You could probably fix it yourself for cheap by replacing the actuator or maybe just reconnecting something.
That’s your power door lock button. It sounds like it’s malfunctioning.

Do Kia cars come with both manual and power door locks on the same model? There’s a lever for manual door locks above the door handle. I’ll add a picture later. As for the malfunctioning, a lot of things on this car don’t work right.
