2 dead batteries in less then 5 years (2019 Sorento)

Like the title says, I have had two batteries die in less than five years on my 2019 Sorento, and the current one isn’t even a year old. Anyone else dealing with this or know what could be causing it? The dealership says everything looks fine.

It’s possible there’s something draining your battery when the car’s off, like a faulty accessory or a glitch in the electrical system.

Have you tried disconnecting the battery overnight and checking for unusual drain?

If that doesn’t help, a second opinion from an independent mechanic might be worthwhile.

The first battery in my Rondo lasted almost exactly five years, which is quite rare and surprised the technician who replaced it. Here in Australia, our state’s roadside service company mentions that the average battery lifespan is about two years, depending on usage. So, I’d say that having two dead batteries is normal and just part of car ownership.

A good battery should come with at least a 3-year warranty. If it doesn’t, consider opting for a higher-quality brand.
